SCHOOLS on the Colmers site in Rednal are pleased to say they will be completely open as usual next week following a week-long closure due to gas supply issues.
Rubery Nursery School, Colmers Farm Primary School and Colmers School and Sixth Form will be open as usual on Tuesday, May 3, when it is expected engineers will have fixed the problem.
The senior school had hot water and heating in one wing, meaning it could remain partially open to a limited number of pupils who were sitting exams this week.
The junior site had no gas supply and as a result, no hot water or heating.
The heating has now returned and the school is gradually warming up.
Rubery Nursery School was completely re-opened on Thursday.
A spokesperson for Colmers School and Sixth Form College said: "After extensive work this week, gas supplies are returning to normal across the school site.
"Thank you to all our parents and carers for your patience and support this week. It's been a challenging and unexpected week and we're glad to be back to normal next week.
"We look forward to welcoming all of our students back at the usual time on Tuesday morning."
