CHARITABLE students from Bromsgrove School have helped raise £180 through a cake sale.
The students, who are in an all-girls House (Oakley) at Bromsgrove, held the sale on Monday, January 22, to raise money for the ‘Days for Girls’ charity.
The charity provides girls and women with sustainable menstrual care solutions and health education, and reaches more than one million people across 110 countries, including the UK.
Student Issy Dunlop said: “We were shocked that so many girls across the world miss or drop out of school due to lack of feminine supplies, so we decided to do what we could to help.”
Days for Girls produces ‘care packs’ that contain brightly coloured, washable, supplies to meet the unique cultural and environmental conditions in communities throughout the world.
It also teaches health education and offers training to help women produce kits to support hygiene needs in their community.
