A MAN has been rushed to hospital after crashing into a tree in Bromsgrove.
The incident happened on Monday, April 4 at around 2:30 pm on Slideslow Drive.
The A38 was closed both ways between M42 J1 and the A448 junction for Bromsgrove whilst emergency services attended the incident.
Ambulance crews were told the driver suffered a medical episode prior to the crash.
Firefighters cut the man free from his vehicle before he was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further treatment.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "One ambulance, a paramedic officer, the West Midlands Care Team and the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car were sent to the scene.
"He had to be cut free from his vehicle with assistance from fire service colleagues before being treated and taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, for further treatment."
Worcestershire Highways and Travel said the A38 reopened just before 6:30 pm.
