MORE than 50 members and guests came together to celebrate a huge milestone in the history of Burcot Woodturners.
At the start of the month, the club celebrated its 25th anniversary since first being affiliated to the AWGB (Association of Woodturners of Great Britain).
Formed by professional woodturner Richard Barnes, in 1997 at Burcot Forge, the club was officially affiliated with the AWGB in April 1998.
Shortly after the club moved its meetings to Burcot Village Hall, which has been its home ever since.
During the meeting there was an extensive display of members’ work, along with a slide show of photographs from the history of the club.
Club President, John Smith said he was proud that the club was going from strength to strength, with more new members and a new website along with social media pages.
The club meets on the first Thursday of each month at Burcot Village Hall at 7.15pm.
