Bredon Wine Fayre in Worcestershire for English wine week

The Bredon Wine Fayre is taking place at Deer Park Hall on June 29 amongst some of the finest vineyards in the country. 

There are currently five award winning vineyards confirmed to be attending with around 30 wines for guests to try.

Hugo Campbell Hill, managing manager at Deer Park Wines, said: "English wine has come on so much in recent years and there are lots of good quality wine producers in the UK. 

"But we are blessed with some of the best views in the country on Bredon Hill. 

"Some rumours say that you can see 15 counties from the top, but I have only ever seen five. 

"I am very excited, I am just hoping for sunshine."

Along with tours of the vineyards and wine tasting, guests can look forward to a craft village, live music and local food from Beefy Boys and the Brisket Bro's Pizza.

Mr Hill continued: "Its going to be a great wine lovers day out. 

"Its all very exciting at the moment as it's not something we have done before. 

"If it's a great success then it's certainly something that we would be looking to grow. 

"We are limiting tickets to 600 but if the weather perks up then we will up them to 1,000."

The confirmed vineyards that are attending are Deer Park Wines, Woodchester Valley, Three Choirs Vineyard, Wellcombe Hills Vineyard and Dell Vineyard. 

Winners of last year's Sparkling Cider trophy at the International Cider Challenge, On Point Cider will also be attending.

Mr Hill said: "I am looking forward to the fayre even if I don't know whether I will enjoy it as much as others, as I will be staying sober and running around to make sure everything runs smoothly.

"I personally love nothing more than watching people who have just tried our wines for the first time and say something along the lines of 'I am shocked, this is truly incredible' or 'I was apprehensive, but this is delicious."

The event will hold wine tasting masterclasses as well as a cheese and wine masterclass hosted by Dairy Made.

Experts will also be holding talks about viticulture (the art of growing vines) and wine making.
