Police have launched an investigation after a man was found dead outside a house in Rubery. 

West Midlands Police said they were called to an address in Hereford Close at around 12.30am. 

Officers found a man who was confirmed dead at the scene and his family have now been informed. 

A police cordon has been in place since the early hours with officers treating the death as "unexplained".

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "We are investigating after a man was found dead outside a house in Birmingham today.

"We were called to an address in Hereford Close, Rubery, at around 12.30am.

"Officers found a man who was sadly confirmed dead at the scene. His family has been informed.

"An investigation has been launched to establish how the man died, and the death is being treated as unexplained.
