A DROITWICH-based company has been given the royal seal of approval.
Control room console designer and manufacturer Winsted Limited welcomed Lt Col Patrick Holcroft, the Queen’s representative in Worcestershire, on Friday, October 18. He presented The Queen's Award for Enterprise 2013 to the firm for its achievement in international trade.
The presentation at Winsted’s' Hampton Lovett-based factory was followed by a reception for specially invited guests in celebration of the occasion. Those attending included Droitwich Spa Mayor, Councillor Tom Noyes, deputy mayor Bob Brookes, Councillor Anne Taft, and representatives from UKTI.
The prestigious accolade, the highest honour that can be bestowed on a UK company, marks the second consecutive year Winsted has been recognised in the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, having won its first in 2012.
General manager Terry Shough said: “I am thrilled to see our recent success recognised in this manner. During recent years we have worked hard to distinguish ourselves in the global market.
“To win the award once was a great achievement, but a second time in succession is an amazing result, and it is a testament to the hard work, commitment and professionalism of all our staff, distributors and suppliers,”
Winsted’s achievement comes as the company celebrates its 50th anniversary and introduces two major new products into its expanding range of equipment solutions, which include consoles, media storage equipment and monitor walls.
