THE latest in a series of events bringing together former pupils from a Bromsgrove school has taken place in London.

Dame Julia Cleverdon, former chief executive of Business in the Community and chairman of Teach First - a powerful movement founded to consider the problem of educational disadvantage - was the guest speaker at the third annual Foundation Lecture.

The event, held earlier this month at the Lansdowne Club, was attended by more than 100 people including the school’s alumni, current and former parents, and friends of the school.

Julia asked them to think about the impact they can have as individuals, and as a group in society.

Dick Noake, chairman of Bromsgrove School Foundation, said: “Dame Julia was an inspiring speaker and a dynamic personality, both on and off stage.

“Our lectures have become a way of raising awareness of the school foundation and its main aim of helping children who could not otherwise afford to come to the school.”
