BROMSGROVE Sporting are going head-to-head with seven other non-league clubs for a £100,000 cash injection.

The Victoria Ground outfit are hoping to win grant through the Budweiser Club Futures programme, which aims to help clubs improve their facilities and make them more financially stable.

Sporting received £50,000 from the scheme last year which was used to improve the ground’s irrigation system.

Success at the regional level automatically qualified them for the national competition.

Football fans can now decide which club they want to see receive the £100,000 Super Grant. From 27 January until 28 February, supporters can view short videos from each club online at facebook.com/budweiseruk and cast their vote to choose the winner.

“This ground has been in use since 1910 and was gifted to the town by local benefactors in 1948 for use by a football club. Since then, any upgrade has been a stop-gap, so to receive this £50,000 Budweiser grant and have the chance to install some quality facilities is fantastic for everyone involved at the club.

“We’ve got ambitious plans for another £100,000 which would help us continue to expand our fan base and continue this family club’s legacy.”

Budweiser Club Futures is also supported by the Football Foundation, who help choose the grant recipients each season, and the FA Facilities and Investment team, who provide advice and guidance to the non-league clubs applying.

All clubs across Steps 5-7 have received a copy of Running a Sustainable Club, a guidance booklet to help them become more sustainable. Clubs wishing to receive a free copy can email FacilitiesInfo@thefa.com.
