JOINING the formerly announced Starsailor, Primal Scream and We Are Scientists for the Lakefest festival 2016 will be The Coral, Newton Faulkner and Afro Celt Sound System.
These six headliners will be joined by the unveiling of even more big names in the coming weeks as the countdown begins to the family-friendly music festival.
Lakefest 2016 returns for its fifth consecutive year on August 11, 12, 13 and 14. For the first time, Eastnor Castle Deer Park, near Ledbury, will play host to the summer spectacular.
Sure to be a crowd pleaser, The Coral announced their return to music at the end of last year, following a five-year hiatus. Their new album Distance Inbetween is due for release on March 4 and their set at Lakefest marks one of their 2016 tour dates. This is their eighth studio album and the band are known for hits including: Dreaming of You, In the Morning and Pass It On.
Dream Catch Me, I Need Something and Teardrop, are all hits for Newton Faulkner and his percussive style of guitar playing. The English singer-songwriter and musician’s fifth studio album, Human Love, was released in November 2015. His debut studio album, Hand Built by Robots was certified double platinum in the UK.
Two decades since they were formed by Grammy-nominated musician and record producer, Simon Emmerson, Afro Celt Sound System will release their new studio album The Source in April. One of world music’s top acts, with album sales of over one and a half million, theirs is an exhilarating live show that ranges from full-on club energy to moments of intimacy.
Lee Martin, Lakefest Director, said, “We’ve received amazing feedback to the line-up so far and are overwhelmed with the reaction to the news of the acts we have booked to date. We can’t wait to announce more names over the coming weeks."
A limited number of early bird tickets are still available. Organisers recommend booking now to avoid disappointment. These are available to buy at lakefest.co.uk/buy-tickets.
