Debbie, president of The Rotary Club of Bromsgrove, welcomed Rotarians and guest speakers to Rosado's Restaurant for what promised to be an interesting and varied evening of presentations.
Prior to dinner a presentation was given by Tammy Wilson on her Rotary sponsored Guiding visit to the USA and Canada. Tammy spoke most confidently on the activities she was engaged in that included working with disabled children in painting Totem Poles at Niagara Falls.
Following dinner a second guest, Jackie from the Basement Project, poke of the support given in preventing homelessness of young people. The
Basement Project being the president's chosen charity for the Presidential Year. Rotarians were told of the work the Project undertook in tenancy support, drop-in sessions and mediation in supporting the independence of young people.
Debbie welcomed Peter Roberts, The Rotary District Governor, to the meeting. Peter spoke of his work throughout the wider District and his aspirations for his year of Governorship. Aspirations that included partnership with the Federation of Small Businesses and growth opportunities of membership.
