Black Country Society
The 50th AGM of the Black Country Society will take place on March 22 at 7.30pm at the Dudley Canal Trust HQ on the Birmingham New Road.
The society which was instrumental in the establishment of the Black Country Museum and at one time had over 2500 members spread throughout the world still continues to pursue the objects of the original members; namely ‘To foster an interest in the past present and future of the Black Country’
The agenda includes the appointment of a new president Keith Hodgkins of Tipton who has been an active member for most of the society’s existence. He will succeed David Galley who has been president for the last two years.
A lecture ‘ A Canal Trip in the West Midlands’ by Roger Butler will follow the AGM. Roger will show a large collection of ‘before and after’ photographs many dating back to the early seventies.
Non members are welcome. Admission is £2.
