ALL lanes on the M42 southbound are now re-open after a severe vehicle fire between Redditch and Bromsgrove on Wednesday, May 31.
Two lanes were closed due to an LPG fuel vehicle fire on M42 Southbound between J2 A441 (Alvechurch/Redditch) and J1 A38/B4096 (Bromsgrove).
Fire crews were called to the incident at 10.14am.
The road was blocked for around 10 minutes whilst the fire was being extinguished by crews from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service.
They sent one crew from Bromsgrove and another from Redditch, and used two hose reels and breathing apparatus to extinguish the blaze.
Lane one remained closed as Highways England treated the road surface following the fire, with all lanes re-opening by 11.40am.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said they received no calls to the incident.
#M42 SB btwn J2 #Hopwood + J1 #Bromsgrove. All lanes now open following earlier collision. Long delays should start to ease.
