A MURDER investigation has been launched by police after a man died in a Bromsgrove house.
Police responded to reports of a seriously injured man at a family home in Humphrey Avenue, Charford, at around 10pm last night.
The man, in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers have now increased their presence in the area as they move to reassure worried local residents.
Neighbours have described the family as "lovely" saying they couldn't believe what has happened.
One local shopkeeper described the area as "largely safe" saying everyone is surprised and shocked at the incident.
"We've been here for a long time and nothing like this has ever happened here," he said.
There are a number of police vans and cars still in the area with officers from the force's Major Investigation Unit speaking to residents.
Officers investigating have said they believe this to be an “isolated incident”.
Detective Inspector Lee Holehouse said: “We are currently treating this as a murder investigation.
"We understand that this will be concerning to the local community but I would emphasise that we believe this to be an isolated incident.
"We will be increasing our presence in the area for your reassurance and peace of mind.”
