A FORMER Bromsgrove councillor has been selected as the Labour party's candidate in the town for next month's General Election.
Rory Shannon, who previously served as a councillor on Bromsgrove District Council's old St John's ward, will attempt to usurp sitting MP Sajid Javid, of the Conservative party.
Mr Shannon said: "It's an amazing honour to be selected to represent my local party."
In addition to Mr Javid and Mr Shannon, three other candidates have thus far been put forward for the Bromsgrove constituency for December 12's General Election.
Dr David Nicholl is contesting the seat for the Liberal Democrats, Mandy Childs will represent the Brexit Party and Kevin White has been chosen as the Green Party's candidate.
