Droitwich 23
Silhillians 21
EDF Senior Vase Round Four
Droitwich recovered from a poor first half display to overcome Silhillians and book their place in the EDF Senior Vase fifth round.
Spa march on to face Vipers in the next round after the 23-21 win.
However, they started in lacklustre fashion, and after taking an early lead through a Duncan Hughes penalty, woeful defending let the visitors' outside half breeze through for a fine individual try.
The visitors scored twice more before the break, before Hughes hit back with another penalty, but things looked grim for Droitwich as they went into half time trailing 21-6.
But then came a dramatic second half revival. Hughes calmly slotted another penalty away, before Matt Blackmore threw an excellent pass to replacement Simon Pierce to dive over and score with his first touch of the game. Hughes scored the crucial conversion and Droitwich now had their tails up.
Hooker James Protherough levelled the game, forcing his way over after Spa won the ball from a scrum and again Hughes was successful with the conversion to secure an unlikely win.
