A BROMSGROVE School pupil has been chosen for the Great Britain under 16 alpine squad for skiing.
Amber Fennell has been skiing since the age of four and has won numerous national competitions.
The 14 year old, who is from Halesowen, has also snowboarded from the age of seven - and wants to be a part of the Olympic squad one day.
Amber said: "I cannot pick between skiing and snowboarding, I love them both! I want to carry on and compete in both.
"In the Winter I go away to Austria for snowboarding then I train at home in the summer from early May on dry ski slopes. I also do a lot more physical training."
Amber's grandmother Dianne Fennell says she is so proud of Amber's achievements. Ms Fennell added: "She is very dedicated, and works so hard! All the family are so proud of her.
"She has competed in Freestyle Snowboarding and Boarder Cross competitions all over Europe, Switzerland, Italy, Austria and Germany, and been very successful.
"The last 3 seasons have been very good for Amber , finishing top of her age category.
"This season has not been to good with the Covid-19 , but she took part in her first FIS Snowboard competition in Switzerland and came 1st which was good as she was the youngest competitor.
"She has been fortunate that Bromsgrove School has been very supportive with her school work while out in Austria via the internet and she has maintained a high standard of work."
Amber competes with her snowboarding team - Why Ain't You and skiing team - Midlands ski club.
