WITH the constant changing of Covid travel restrictions, a lot of people are decide to holiday closer to home this year.
With staycations currently being a popular choice, spending on campsites and caravan parks surged by 139 per cent compared with the previous three months, to £69.5 million.
One of the perks of living in Worcestershire is that you are never far away from a camp site or caravan park.
So with the six weeks school holiday now in full force, here are the five best campsites in Worcestershire as rated on Tripadvisor.
1. Lickhill Manor Caravan Park
Lower Lickhill Road, Stourport-on-Severn
Lickhill Manor Caravan Park is rated four and half stars on Tripadvisor, offering seasonal and short stay touring.
All pitches provide e;electric hookup points and free wifi for customers.
It is a short 20 minute walk to the River Severn and on the edge of Stourport Town.
2. Blackmore Camping And Caravanning Club Site
Blackmore End, Hanley Swan, Malvern
This site is also rated four and half stars, with nearby attractions including Malvern Hills and Worcestershire Beacon.
Guests have access to a fitness centre during their stay and have free parking.
Some pitches provide electric hookup and ready camp tents are available.
3. Wolferlow Wigwams
Cockshutts Farm, Tenbury Wells,
This site offers camping but from the comfort of an insulated wooden cabin named 'Wigwams', which sleeps up to five guests.
Inside there is a fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster and outside, a wooden picnic bench, fire pit and charcoal barbecue.
Its close to the local market towns of Bromyard and Tenbury Wells.
4. Canvas & Clover
Rowe Farm, Ockeridge Lane, holt Heath, Worcester
This is a luxury eco friendly family run glamping site based on a five acre farm.
There are ten safari tents, sleeping up to five people, with a fire pit, picnic bench and kitchen shed.
5. Hidden Valley Camping
Bine Fram, Highwood, Eastham
This is a small, family run glamping and camping site with only two bell tents and a handful of tent pitches on site.
The field is a car free site, with only a short walk from the car park.
The site say "We aim to provide a low impact, sustainable and eco-friendly camp site; it’s a field on a farm, with lots of peace and quiet for people who are looking for a real back to nature camping experience."
Facilities are basic, composting toilets, a gas shower and a covered washing up area.
