THE Worcester-Birmingham and Droitwich Canals Society is inviting visitors to take part in a free guided tour of Tardebigge canal as part of heritage open week.
Guides from the society are set to offer a snapshot of 200 years of canal life on September 18 and 19.
The story of the Wharf and the surrounding landscape is placed into context as visitors can see the current wharf and sites of past quays, quarries, and rail tracks.
Volunteer lock keepers will also be on hand to explain the aims of water management.
Directions will be given for visitors to continue their walk along the canal flight to Tardebigge Reservoir.
There is no need to book but tour times are at 10am, 11am, midday, 1pm and 2pm on both days, meeting at the car park in front of St Bartholomew’s Church.
For further information contact Chris Gibbs on 07807 496343.
