A HOTEL in Lickey Hills is having its first shot at TV stardom next week by appearing on the popular Channel 4 programme - Four in a Bed.
The Old and Rose Crown Hotel on Rose Hill will be put up against three other hotels or B&B’s to be rated as favourite stay on the hit show.
The show involves B&B owners, who take turns to stay with one another and pay what they consider fair for their stay after giving feedback.
Owners Andrew and Joanne Hodges said they are excited to see themselves on TV.
“We are really excited and looking forward to seeing ourselves on TV but also there is sense of trepidation to see how all the footage is going to be put together," said Andrew.
“I thought hospitality was hard but filming is so difficult – filming for hours and hours was so tiring.”
As part of the show each pair of owners have to set up an activity for the group.
Andrew added: “It was filmed back in March so it was full lockdown and we couldn’t do any activities.
“So, we decided on a walk up to Lickey Hills and Beacon Hill Castle and we also led a talk about old Birmingham.
“It went down really well!”
Joanna, aged 51 and Andrew, 54 have owned the hotel for nearly 20 years.
Andrew added: “We have been asked for years to appear on the show, but we have always said no until this year as sometimes it can be a bit catty!
“We were really fortunate that we the other three couples were like minded.
“We also travelled to Glastonbury, Lincolnshire and Carlisle so we had a nice two weeks travelling!”
Four in a Bed will broadcast on Channel 4 at 5pm on Monday, November 8.
