BROMSGROVE Choral Society will be performing for the last time this weekend falling numbers leads to its closure.
The long-established group has seen a huge slide in members in recent years and a drop in those attending concerts.
Chairman Eddie Clulee said: “After performing concerts in Bromsgrove for more than 71 years it is with great sadness that we have taken the decision to close.
"For many years the choir flourished under tight leadership and grants from the Bromsgrove District Council and Worcestershire County Council.
"However falling numbers leads to falling revenue meaning the choir is no longer sustainable."
The choir will be taking to the stage for the final time on Saturday, December 7 at 7.30 pm at All Saints Church, Bromsgrove
To finish on a high note, the group will be singing excerpts from Handel’s Messiah and a variety of carols.
Tickets on the door are £5 and include free refreshments
