A WOMAN from Rubery has appeared on a new ITV show – Walk the Line.
Lisa- Marie Holmes made her TV music competition debut on Tuesday, December 14, starring in the new hit show which has been dubbed a ‘musical game show.’
Each night five singers battle it out to be in with a chance of winning a £500,000 cash prize at the end of the week.
The two top performers of each night will be asked to choose between cashing out or walking the line.
Lisa-Marie, who is currently starring in the musical, Everybody’s Talking about Jamie, said it was a great experience.
“I received a phone call from talent scouts asking if I wanted to go on the show and I dint know at first as I was so busy, but I thought you know why not give it a go,” said Lisa-Marie.
“I did the audition earlier this year and was put through to the last 20 which they narrowed down to the final 25 who performed on the show.
“I had a great audience reaction, but I didn’t get in the final two.”
Lisa-Marie, a former Wasley Hills School student, has performed on stage since she was a young girl, training from the age of nine at various prestigious musical companies and colleges.
However, the 35-year-old was left star struck after performing in front of a star-studded panel on Walk The Line.
“You are just in a world of your own when you are performing, it’s very surreal,” said Lisa-Marie.
“I have met along of celebs, but I was star struck by Dawn French and I don’t think I’ve ever been start struck before.
“I said to her we have matching jackets! All the judges were really nice of course but Dawn is an icon.”
