THE beer garden of a Catshill pub could be given a major makeover if plans are given the green light.
An application has been lodged with Bromsgrove District Council to transform the outside area of The Crown Inn on Stourbridge Road.
An outside bar and seating pods could soon be coming to the pub if the plans for a full external refurbishment are passed.
Owners Greene King want to create a split-level decking area to the rear of the pub, along with an outside bar by building a shed-like structure, the plans state.
The lower section of decking would be home to five open-fronted seating pods, which would include fixed benches, seats and TVs for live sport viewing.
The decking would be surrounded by festoon lights “to create ambient lighting in the evening.”
The application states the plan offers the opportunity for “safe socialising” in the time of Covid, adding: "It also means that the pub becomes a viable business in a changeable environment regardless of the time of year.”
The application is open to comments under the reference number 22/00008/FUL.
