A SERIES of live music events in Bromsgrove are set to banish the January blues away.

A raft of pubs across the town will be hosting live gigs as part of The Welcome Back Programme.

Running over the last week of the month, acts set to perform in 'January Blues Week' include The Lady and the Sax, Joe Materson Trio and Abi K.

Bromsgrove District Council leader Cllr Karen May said: “We left 2021 with the fantastic news about the Burcot Lane development starting and that our town had received funding of £14.5m to regenerate the Market Street area and that Birdbox had won a national award.

“So I am delighted these good vibes are continuing as we enter 2022 to the sound of live music which, as well as supporting our local venues which have suffered during this pandemic, will provide merriment for our residents too."
