A NEW boutique gym is bringing energy and exercise to Bromsgrove High Street.
Funktional Fitness Boutique is now open on the High Street, specialising in small group training.
The gym includes functional training space for individual training, small group training, floor-based classes, boxing for fitness and 1:1 personal training.
Functional fitness equips the body for routine life using everyday movements.
The gym also showcases a state of the art Box 12 circuit, which offers interactive training.
The device, which is only one of three of use in the UK, consists of 12, three minute rounds that combine boxing and functional fitness exercises so people can just turn up and train without relying on anyone else.
Funktional Fitness Boutique was launched by Scott Jones and his son Ben and is based in a former retail unit that housed Mothercare and Shoezone.
Scott, aged 50, is no stranger to the fitness industry, having clocked up 31 years working in gyms over the country, including time at the Aquatic Centre at London's Olympic Park.
Ben, aged 22, is helping his father to run the gym as he has grown up watching his father at work.
The pair are from Solihull but specifically chose Bromsgrove as they wanted a high street location.
The gym is nestled in between Argos and Slug and Lettuce.
Scott said:"I believe that high streets are on the rise but with boutique shops, restaurants and much more residential.
"We want to bring exercise to the community which is why we're on the High Street.
"The reaction has been fantastic. The gym is not intimidating, it's for all levels."
The gym officially opened in January and has so far amassed a following of members who have been invited to have their say on the the gym's timetable.
Classes on offer includes sessions in HIT, spin, functional fitness, along with circuit training over the gym's two floors.
Scott added: "We want people to have a look around and have a coffee with us, we want to be really community based."
