BROMSGROVE District Housing Trust (bdht) has launched a new programme to keep those in Independent Living facilities active and healthy after the Covid pandemic.
The ‘A Stronger Me’ campaign aims to get members of the community moving again, encouraging over 65s in Worcestershire to stay active later in life. ]#
The resistance band exercise classes help to maintain and build muscle strength and improve mental health.
Hannah Ross, independen living manager at bdht, said: “The resistance band exercise classes are a Worcester Council initiative implemented by bdht to help residents physically, to sustain their health.
“The pandemic lead to a great deal of isolation for tenants in our sheltered living accommodation and these exercise classes encourage social interaction where members of the community can build relationships with neighbours."
The classes take place every Monday at 11am for all bdht residents who are over 50 at Shenstone Court in the community room.
