A BOWLING complex in Rubery has unveiled its new look after a half million-pound makeover.
The centre boasts 26 upgraded bowling lanes including four VIP lanes decked out with plush furnishing, a state-of-the-art scoring system and Hollywood décor.
In addition to the enhanced bowling facilities, the centre’s amusement area has also been transformed and expanded, now featuring more popular games including Space Invaders, Mario Kart and Halo.
Hollywood Bowl on Park Way invited VIP guests including Bromsgrove fundraiser, 11-year-old Millie Bedford and ‘Marylin Monroe’ to a launch night on March 10.
Millie, who is one of less than 1,000 around the world to live with a rare genetic syndrome called Wiedemann-Steiner Syndrome, joined ‘Marilyn Monroe’ to cut the ribbon to officially relaunch the revamped centre.
Millie’s mum, Charlotte Bedford, said: “We were absolutely over the moon when Hollywood Bowl invited Millie and the rest of the family to this event.
“Millie loves bowling and she is a real people person, so loved meeting the team and guests.
“She had a really great time with Marilyn and we already know that she will be speaking about this evening for the rest of the year!”
Mark Hickey, centre manager for Hollywood Bowl Rubery, said: “Thanks to our fantastic refurbishment, we’ve been able to offer guests so much more variety, as well as a completely new look just in time for the Easter holidays.
“The centre is now fit for a local superstar, such as Millie who we were delighted could come and join us at our VIP relaunch night.
“She is an inspiration and a talented ten-pin bowler too!
“We’re excited to continue offering our unique family entertainment to bowling fans across Rubery.”
Guests who visit the new-look centre can also treat themselves to food and drinks from the upgraded bar and diner.
