BROMSGROVE Pre-Preparatory and Nursery School has raised nearly £400 for Comic Relief after pupils took to the pool to swim the distance of the English Channel.
A total of 80 swimmers from Year 1 and Year 2 completed 1320 lengths of the school pool, in a bid to raise funds for Red Nose Day on Friday, March 18.
Head of Prep and Pre-Prep Mike Marie said: “It was such a privilege to see the children's determination and enthusiasm in the pool as they collectively swam the equivalent distance of the English Channel.
“Hearing the pride in the voice of a child who normally finds swimming quite challenging, as they said that they have swum the most they've ever done and completed 10 lengths was really moving.”
Pupils also dressed in their own clothes and nursery children made themed biscuits and participated in a treasure hunt.
The grand total of the department’s fundraising efforts was around £370.
