A NEW children’s home could be coming to Bromsgrove if plans are passed.
A planning application has been submitted to Bromsgrove District Council to change 157 Birmingham Road from a dwelling to a children’s home.
Applicant Stepping Stones Care want to turn the five-bedroom house into a home for up to four children.
If passed, the home would be regulated by Ofsted and would look after young people aged between 11 and 17-years-old with learning difficulties.
The plan states that staff will work shifts through the day and night but will not live at the property.
The planning statement adds: “The home uses a staffing ratio in accordance with the needs of the young people who reside in the home. All Support Workers will oversee the direct care and supervision of the children/young people placed.”
The application is open to comments on the Bromsgrove planning portal under the reference 22/00330/FUL.
