BROMSGROVE Leisure Centre has been selected as a finalist in the UK Active Awards.
The centre run by Everyone Active on behalf of Bromsgrove District Council has been shortlisted in the ‘Regional Centre of the Year – Midlands category.
If the team are successful, they will also be considered for the ‘National Centre of the Year’ Award.
Lloyd Barraclough, contract manager at Bromsgrove Leisure Centre said: “It’s an honour to be shortlisted for the UK Active Awards. This truly reflects the hard work and dedication the team has put in over the past year, especially following such challenging times during the pandemic.
“To be selected as a finalist is an achievement in itself and we’d like to thank all of our members for their ongoing support.”
Bromsgrove District Council portfolio-holder for leisure, Cllr Michael Thompson, said: “This council is committed to providing amazing things for residents to do particularly around fitness and well-being.
"Thanks to the hard work of Everyone Active, Bromsgrove Leisure Centre is a key asset to help us achieve this."
Finalists will go through to the next stage of the judging process where they will undergo further assessments including a mystery shop and digital review.

“We are extremely proud of all of our members, who have worked so hard in rebuilding the sector and our nation’s health, as we mark just over a year since facilities were allowed to reopen.”
Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on Thursday, June 30 at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham.
The awards are designed to recognise and celebrate excellence across health and fitness in the UK.
