HARD hit Bromsgrove pensioners can apply for funds that could provide a life line of financial support.
Any Bromsgrove residents aged 66 and over who are struggling to make ends meet can apply for help from the government’s Household Support Fund.
The money could help to pay for life’s essentials which could range from repaying energy debts to household repairs and even food bills.
But residents must not delay because the scheme will cease at the end of September – so any applications which haven’t been processed by then, will not count.
Bromsgrove District Council are now urging all friends and relatives of people who might be eligible for funds to apply as quickly as possible.
Council leader Karen May confirmed: “ It’s vital that our pensioners, especially those who aren’t in receipt of benefits apply as there is a chance they may meet the criteria.
“With the continual rise in the cost of living, every penny counts!.
Money for the Household Support Fund has been ringfenced but people must apply to the scheme.
Anyone who feels they may qualify for help from the scheme should go to: Bromsgrove.gov.uk/hsf or call 0800 988 2881 for help with energy bills or alternatively call 0808 2787890 for other costs.
