A RECORD-BREAKING amount of money has been raised for Primrose Hospice thanks to a popular festival.
Orchardfest started in 2016 and is organised by Primrose Hospice supporter Dave Morgan.
It was started as an idea by Dave’s late wife Trish who said it would be great to hold a music event on Puddle Wharf Farm.
Dave and his family decided to run the event in her memory, and it has gone from strength to strength since.
This year the festival raised more than £26,000 for Primrose Hospice & Family Support Centre.
A total of 1000 people attended Orchardfest with entertainment from local bands and singers all volunteering their time for the event.
Dave said: “I’m so pleased with the success of Orchardfest 2022, it just keeps getting better every year!
“Trish always loved music and thought it would be great to have a festival on the farm. It’s so special that we get to organise this amazing event in her memory.
“It’s a great opportunity to showcase local talent all whilst raising vital funds for such an important local charity that supports people when they need them the most.”
Some of the money raised from this year’s Orchardfest will be funding a defibrillator to be used at future Primrose Hospice fundraising events.
