A PERSON has died following reports of a casualty on the tracks near Bromsgrove.
British Transport Police (BTP) were called to the line near Bromsgrove Train Station at 8:11 am on October 3.
Emergency services attended the incident, but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers from BTP are working to establish the full circumstances behind their death.
A spokesperson for BTP said: “British Transport Police were called to the line near Bromsgrove at 8.11 am this morning (3 October) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics also attended, and sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Officers are currently working to establish the full circumstances behind their death.”
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said they were called to the train line near the junction of Alcester Road and Hewell Lane.
"On arrival, we discovered one male patient," added the spokesperson.
"Sadly, it quickly became apparent nothing could be done to save him, and he was confirmed dead at the scene."
All trains between Bromsgrove and Longbridge are cancelled or delayed and disruption is expected to last until 3 pm, National Rail has confirmed.
