BROMSGROVE received a special visit this month – from its twin town in Germany.
Around seven councillors from Gronau made the important visit, which was arranged by Bromsgrove International Link, to celebrate 40 years of friendship between the two locations.
During their visit, the Gronau representatives enjoyed a host of events including lunch, a visit to South Bromsgrove High School and a concert at St John’s Church.
The twinning link between the towns was initiated in 1980 by their respective local choirs.
Due to the Covid pandemic, the 40th anniversary trip has been delayed for two years.
Judith Stephenson, president of Bromsgrove International Link, said: “Over the past 42 years there have been regular visits between our two towns organised by Bromsgrove International Link.
"Many Bromsgrovians have enjoyed some typical German hospitality which they have been able to reciprocate when our German friends came to Bromsgrove.”
