PRIMROSE Hospice is offering part of its centre as a ‘warm space’ for people struggling during winter.

It is believed the charity is the first hospice in Worcestershire to offer a warm space.

Members of the community can visit the support centre on Saint Godwald’s Road on Monday to Friday between 9:30 am and 4:30 pm.

People will be able to access free Wi-Fi, space to work, free refreshments and a large seating area.

David Burrell, chief executive Officer at Primrose Hospice said: “We are really pleased to be able to offer our Warm Space at our welcoming hospice this Winter to anyone that may need it.

“We know that a lot of people may have to make sacrifices this year, so by offering somewhere warm for our community to spend time will hopefully be beneficial for our community.”

The hospice said they hope this space offers some reassurance to the community during the cost-of-living crisis.

Anyone visiting the warm space is asked to use public transport or park off-site as the main car park needs to be accessible for patients and clients.

An increasing number of organisations across the United Kingdom are offering ‘warm spaces’ as concern grows for people who may struggle through the winter season.

Bromsgrove Library is being promoted as a ‘warm space' where people can access free services, find information and support, take part in events and activities, and connect with others.

The county council also say support is available in all Worcestershire libraries to ‘develop skills, find work and information in relation to setting up a business’.

A statement on the council website reads: "Libraries offer a wide range of free services to allow Worcestershire residents to stay connected."

Bromsgrove Baptist Church is also open from 7:30 pm until 8:30 pm every Thursday for a free sit-down hot meal.
