BROMSGROVE MP Sajid Javid earned nearly £400,000 in donations, gifts, and payments other than his MP salary it has been revealed.
Since the start of the current parliament which began at the end of 2019, the former health secretary has declared 29 financial interests
On top of his MP salary of £84,000 and extra money he received whilst holding cabinet positions, Mr Javid has declared £397,100 in donations, gifts, payments, and other benefits so far.
The figures, which have been compiled by Sky News and Tortoise Media, show that Mr Javid’s extra cash comes from 14 different sources.
These include £126,200 in secondary earnings from J.P Morgan EMEA Advisory Council, £100,800 in secondary earnings from C3.ai and £20,000 in donations from Excool.
Mr Javid’s extra earnings put him in the top two per cent of all MPs for most earnings – at number nine on the list.
According to Sky News and Tortoise Media, the average MP received around £16,090 worth of donations, gifts, and other payments.
A spokesperson for Sajid Javid said: “Serving as the Member of Parliament for Bromsgrove is an immense privilege for Sajid and throughout his time in Parliament, it has always been his first priority.
“It is not unusual for backbench MPs to carry out speaking engagements or other time-limited work.”
