A NEW takeaway could be coming to Bromsgrove High Street.
Plans have been lodged to convert a barber shop to a hot food takeaway at 42 High Street.
If passed, the shop will become a peri-peri hut called Kuku’s and will be open from midday to 2am every day.
Previously the building was also a Wimpy’s burger bar.
A heritage statement accompanying the application states: “There are currently no hot food takeaways along the high street.
“However, there are a number of cafes and restaurants that offer a variety of foods.

“Istanbul Kebab, Chicago Pizza and Charlie’s Kebab house are located on Worcester Road that provide hot food takeaway.
“This part of High Street could be classified as a food hub due to the number of food places that offer a variety of cuisines.

“Reinventing a hot food takeaway at no 42 high street will offer the local residents and visiting shoppers a new style of food that is currently not offered in this part of Bromsgrove.
“The proposed works will give the premises a new purpose and a vibrant shop front that it deserves.”
It is proposed that a new kitchen, prep area, storage room and counter bar will be constructed.
