A COMMUNITY pub has shut its doors as work on a major refurbishment gets underway.
The Crown in Wychbold will be closed for the next two weeks as it undergoes some big changes.
This comes following a £160,000 investment and the recent arrival of a new general manager, Keiran McAteer.
“We are really looking forward to getting back open and getting our guests back through the door,” he said.
“Works have officially started internally today (May 15) so myself and the team are excited to re-open with our new look.”
Mr McAteer added: "We would just like to thank all our wonderful guests for such an amazing last weekend!
"Without you, our team can not do what we absolutely love too!"

The dog-friendly pub closed at the end of play on Sunday (May 14) and is due to reopen on Bank Holiday Monday, May 29.
Mr McAteer arrived at the inn on Crown Lane earlier this year, alongside deputy James Nesbit and supervisor Jacob Rushgrove.
Mr Rushgrove said there will be work done both inside and out, with the aim of making it a more open space that offers something for everyone, including the installation of a new darts board and updated pool table.
Upon reopening, the pub will begin hosting quizzes, charity nights and special events in partnership with local groups, such as classic car enthusiasts.
“It is going to be a huge refurbishment, the first of its kind for this pub in quite a while," added Mr Rushgrove.
“It will change the scale of what being a community pub is all about.
“We will be back just in time for summer.”

On what the new general manager has brought to the role, Mr Rushgrove added: “He is an amazing general manager.
“It didn’t always have the best reputation, but he has changed that.
“He’s brought in new staff, and we are all so excited for it.”
The Crown also operates as a 15-room hotel and is part of the Marstons group, which has over 1,600 pubs and bars across England, Scotland and Wales.
