AN 'incident' has closed the A38 from J4 of the M5 towards Rubery.
The A38 is expected to be closed for an hour while the collision investigation team complete their enquiries in relation to a collision that happened yesterday (Tuesday, June 20) morning.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "We were called to a report of a single vehicle road traffic accident on the A38 at Lydiate Ash close to J4 of the M5 at 7am yesterday.
"A car had left the carriageway and gone down a steep embankment.
"The female driver was trapped for a short time but was released and taken by land ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham with a head injury.
"We had to close the A38 eastbound from Lydiate Ash in the direction of Rubery while the vehicle was being recovered.
"The fire service were also in attendance."
West Mercia Operations and Communications Centre tweeted today: "The A38 from Junction 4 of the M5 towards Longbridge will be closed for around an hour whilst we deal with an incident.
"Please avoid the area where possible @HighwaysWMIDS @WorcsTravel."
