Ross Kemp has been forced to halt filming for his latest series World's Most Dangerous Prisons after an "incident".

The presenter has made a name for himself on TV, visiting and immersing himself in some of the roughest places anywhere on the globe.

The former EastEnders star had already begun production and was set to fly off to South America for the next leg of filming.

However, according to Deadline, production on the World's Most Dangerous Prisons has reportedly halted after an apparent "incident", seeing Paramount+ hold urgent talks with the producers of Ross Kemp: 72 hours in... to try and get the show back on track.

 

Filming on Ross Kemp's World's Most Dangerous Prisons halted over 'unforeseen production challenges'

A Channel 5 spokesperson said: "Filming had begun on the series, but due to unforeseen production challenges, we have made the practical decision to halt filming at the moment."

Previously, Ross Kemp had starred in a number of other risky documentaries such as Ross Kemp on Gangs, Ross Kemp: The Fight Against ISIS and Ross Kemp in Afghanistan.

The description of the new programme says that the TV hardman "goes behind bars in some of the world’s most high-security, high-risk prisons housing gang leaders, serial killers, violent criminals, drug lords and mass murderers".

When announcing the new series, he said:  "I’ve been to some of the toughest prisons in the UK and all around the world. I thought I’d experienced it all, and taken every adventure, but this time we’re going even further than before.

"I’m looking forward to my first documentary series with Channel 5 and taking you all on this journey with me."
