NEW community shops where people can "pay as they feel" for groceries have been set up amid rising living costs.
Charity New Starts has opened two shops in Bromsgrove and Frankley to support those struggling to cope with the cost of living crisis.
Marion Kenyon, the chief executive of the charity, said: "It doesn't matter whether you're a millionaire or somebody with no money.
"Anybody can come and it's pay as you feel. It's mostly fruit and vegetables.
"It works for us and it works for the people in the community.
"We've probably had about 400 customers come through now”.
In an effort to reduce waste, some of the food has been supplied by farmers who have been unable to sell their produce. Food has also been supplied by supermarkets.
The Bromsgrove shop is located on Sherwood Road, and the Frankley shop is on Arden Road.
The two stores are open from 3pm until 6pm on Thursdays.
