A MUG of mulled wine, festive music and stalls of handmade goods - nothing beats a Christmas market to get you in the festive spirit.
All across the UK, the winter months see Christmas markets spring up all over including Worcester's own Victorian fayre and other markets within an hour of the city.
Here are some of the Christmas markets in and around Worcestershire and when they are taking place in 2023.
Worcester Victorian Christmas Fayre
The Victorian Christmas Fayre returns to Worcester on Thursday, November 30, ending on Sunday, December 3.
There will be a community carol service at 4.45pm in Worcester Cathedral until 5pm, followed by the traditional procession to the Cornmarket, where the Fayre will be declared officially open by The Mayor of Worcester.
There will be lots of stalls selling festive goods, alongside food options and performers entertaining the crowds.
It is never an event to miss.
Evesham Christmas Artisan Fayre
Organised by The Battle of Evesham, this free-to-enter event raises vital funds for the main festival, helping it grow year-on-ear.
The fayre will have three sections, including medieval, Victorian and modern, lots of entertainment for the public attending.
Frankfurt Christmas Market - Birmingham
The largest authentic German Christmas market, held outside of Germany or Austria, can be found in the nearby city of Birmingham.
Birmingham’s Frankfurt Christmas Market is a firm fixture in the city’s annual calendar offering a large range of gifts, as well as festive food and drinks like pretzels, schnitzels, bratwursts, and roasted almonds - alongside plenty of beers and hot chocolates.
The event returns to returned to Victoria Square and New Street on Thursday, November 2and will be held until Sunday, December 24.
Winter Markets at Gloucester Quays
The Winter Markets at Gloucester Quays returned this weekend (Saturday, November 4 and Sunday, November 5) with over 90 traders showcasing a range of craftworks, gifts and food from the Southwest region.
Every weekend in the run-up to Christmas, from now until Saturday, December 16 and Sunday, December 17, the Winter Markets will be a good option for weekend days out with the family, and not too far away.
Entry to the market is free, and there is also an option to book tickets for the outdoor Ice Rink from Friday, November 24.
Cheltenham Christmas Gift Market and Arts & Crafts Christmas Market
The Cheltenham Christmas Gift Market will be returning to the Promenade on Thursday, November 16 to Sunday, November 19.
The event will have a selection of gifts such as homewares, and food and drink. The Market will be full of Christmas chalets for the four-day period.
The second event will be the traditional Arts & Crafts Christmas Market, taking place on the Promenade from the Thursday, December 14 to Saturday, December 23.
There will be pottery, original art, glassware, jewellery and more for sale.
Bath Christmas Market
Further afield, Bath Christmas Market will be returning on Thursday, November 23 to Sunday, December 10.
The market is a free event that spans the picturesque city centre, with chalets nestled amongst the city buildings and lots of mulled wine.
