BROMSGROVE residents will be coming together this Sunday for parades and services to remember soldiers who have served and lost their lives in wars and other conflicts.
A number of road closures will be in place across the county across this weekend in order for parades to go ahead.
Here are the events in Bromsgrove and nearby:
- Bromsgrove Remembrance Day Parade - The parade will set off at 10.40am by Argos. A service will be held at the war memorial in Crown Close.
- Alvechurch Remembrance Day Parade - Bear Hill will be closed from 10:15am – 12:00pm.
- Wythall Remembrance Day Parade - Shawhurst Lane, Paddocks Road War Memorial and Alcester Road will be closed between 10am and 12pm. Traffic diversion will be in place from Houndsfield Road.
- Rubery Remembrance Day Parade - Legion Road and New Road will be closed from 10:00am - 11:45am.
Councillor Richard Morris, Chairman of the Worcestershire Armed Forces Partnership, said: “It is vitally important that the county can come together and take a moment to remember those who have lost their lives fighting for their country.
"During my tenure as chair, we will continue to do all we can to reflect, raise awareness and support those in the Armed Forces community in Worcestershire and build on the fantastic work already being done.”
