Bromsgrove police have been completing speed checks today (Wednesday, December 13) following serious concerns from residents.
Officers from the local Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) in partnership with the Operational Police Unit, Motorcycle Traffic Support Team and the Neighbourhood Crime Fighting Team, conducted the speed watch initiative in Fairfield.
The team were out between 8am and 9.30am on the Stourbridge Road and managed to educate 12 motorists about the dangers of their speed with all agreeing to take a roadside breath test.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "Officers will be conducting similar operations across the area during the run-up to Christmas.
"We will be proactively addressing issues concerning vehicles driving in excess of the speed limit and people driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs."
