CONSTRUCTION work on a new 370-home development in Bromsgrove is set to begin in January.
The new Whitford Heights development, off Whitford Road, will feature both houses and bungalows for private sale.
Bellway West Midlands will build 183 homes and Ashberry Homes, which is part of the Bellway Group, will build 187 properties.
Forty per cent of the homes – 148 in total – will be designated as affordable and more than £4 million will also be invested in supporting local services and infrastructure.
Marie Richards, sales director for Bellway West Midlands, said: “We are making the final preparations to launch Whitford Heights and to release the first selection of homes onto the market.
“Both Bellway at Whitford Heights and Ashberry Homes at Whitford Heights will be providing a mix of two, three and four-bedroom new homes for sale.
“Once we open on site, our sales team will be able to engage face-to-face with potential purchasers, who will be able to come along to see for themselves exactly where the site is located and find out more about how the development will look.”
Bromsgrove District Council approved Bellway’s plans for the dual development on the 42-acre site in July last year.
The development will also feature a large area of public open space with seating areas, mown paths and a children’s play area.
Ms Richards added: “We have worked closely with the council over our plans to provide hundreds of new homes at Whitford Heights to ensure they meet the specific needs of the local market.
“We will be delivering more than just new homes here. As part of the planning agreement for the development, Bellway will provide over £4 million in funding towards local projects and initiatives, including £725,753 for high school education, £648,418 for first school education, and a contribution of £518,918 towards sustainable infrastructure projects.”
