BROMSGROVE'S Conservative parliamentary candidate Bradley Thomas is "thrilled" after winning a "confirmatory" vote to stand in the next general election.
Mr Thomas, who previously served as leader of Wychavon District Council, was announced by the Bromsgrove Conservatives as their Prospective Parliamentary Candidate (PPC) back in August.
He was selected after Sajid Javid, the current MP for Bromsgrove, announced that he would stand down at the next election.
However, the Conservative Party head office confirmed earlier this month that another vote would be held to decide Bromsgrove's PPC after an "irregularity" was discovered in the selection process.
The new vote was held on Thursday (December 14) for local Conservative Party members and Mr Thomas was confirmed as the PPC.
He said: “I am delighted to be confirmed as the Conservative’s Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Bromsgrove.
"I am looking forward to continuing campaigning alongside local Conservatives on the issues that matter to local people”.
