Independent retailers across the town can now apply for a grant set to revitalise the Bromsgrove district.
The UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) grant aims to help retailers make their business dreams a reality and breathe life back into retail centres.
Whether retailers have plans to improve their shop frontage or set up in a new vacant unit all local independent traders are being encouraged to grab their share of the UKSPF funding.
The Centres Enhancement Grant scheme aims to encourage longer-term occupation of vacant retail premises, improvements to the internal appearance of shops and frontages and accessibility of occupied units.
Deputy leader of Bromsgrove District Council, Sue Baxter, said: "With everyday costs rising, improvement works or moving to a new premises can feel like a pipe dream for many small businesses.
"Thanks to this UKSPF funding, local independent retailers can make their dreams a reality, reducing the number of vacant properties and breathing new life across the whole of Bromsgrove District to encourage more people to visit and boosting the economy.
"It's a win-win for everyone. It's only available to apply for until mid-February though so if you have an idea for your business get in touch as soon as possible."
The council hopes the scheme will help boost footfall, stimulate entrepreneurship, create new jobs and enhance the sustainability of businesses.
The grant is available to existing and prospective independent retailers who can bid for up to £10,000 for a vacant unit and £5,000 for an occupied unit depending on their eligibility and the project put forward.
Priority will be given to properties located within Bromsgrove Town Centre and Rubery Village, but applications will also be considered from Alvechurch Village, Aston Fields, Barnt Green, Catshill, Hagley and Wythall.
Applications close on February 16.
