MATT Rawnsley inspired a comfortable victory for Ombersley, with an impressive spell of 6-31.
Newport batted first and were sent packing for just 113.
Rawnsley led the way with his six-wicket haul, while there was an impressive 2-34 for Brett D'Oliveira.
Ombersley lost Phil Burdon early on in their reply but Joey Robinson helped them build a steady run chase, making 39.
Duncan Catterall (4) and D'Oliveira (4) failed to make an impact at the crease.
It was left to Tom Oakley and Fiaz to steer Ombersley home.
Oakley finished on 27 not out, and Fiaz made 15 not out as they earned a four-wicket victory.
Ombersley travel to second-place Berkswell this Saturday.
