A number of fallen trees were reported along roads in Bromsgrove last night as a storm wreaked havoc across the county.
Worcestershire County Council said around 50 trees fell across Worcestershire due to Storm Jocelyn as teams worked hard to clear blocked roads and footpaths.
The storm hit the north of the county the hardest with reports of many fallen trees in Bromsgrove and Wyre Forest whilst power cuts were also reported in Worcester.
Worcestershire County Council's cabinet member with responsibility for highways and transport, Mike Rouse, said: "We are always really well prepared for bad weather and I'm immensely proud of our team who work tirelessly to ensure our roads are safe for our residents to travel.
"I'd like to say a huge thank you to all the staff who responded to the weather challenges last night."
Storm Jocelyn is the second named storm to hit the county within days following closely on from Storm Isha.
Jon Fraser, from Worcestershire County Council Highways, added: "We weren't expecting it to be as busy in Worcestershire for Storm Jocelyn. Storm Isha was an amber warning so we thought that would be the one to watch out for.
"We are working constantly to keep our highways safe and open. It's been nonstop in the last few weeks with floods then ice and now the two storms in quick succession.
"People should try to prepare for storms as much as possible checking forecasts and tying anything down that could take off in the wind."
Worcestershire County Council has said that it remains on alert and if anyone spots a problem, they should call 01905 845676 or report it at www.worcestershire.gov.uk/reportit
