Berkswell 142 all out (2pts)
Ombersley 143-4 (24pts)
Ombersley won by six wickets
OMBERSLEY moved back into contention for promotion from Birmingham and District League Division Two after crushing Berkswell.
Home side Berkswell batted first, and were on the wrong end of a fierce spell of bowling from Fiaz, who took 5-50.
He was well backed up by Neil Slade (2-20) and Matt Rawnsley (2-33) as Berkswell were skittled inside 47 overs.
Ombersley reached their target comfortably in 37.1 overs.
After Phil Burdon (6) and Joey Robinson (4) fell early, Duncan Catterall took on the anchor role for the visitors.
He made a brilliant 75 not out to steer them home.
Ombersley survived the loss of Brett D'Oliveira (2), before Rawnsley took to the crease to add 41 not out, helping Catterall to provide the runs which took their side up to second place.
Ombersley travel to third-placed Penn this Saturday.
